Kitchen Assistant

(Immediate Start)

Hours: Part-time & Flexible (Wednesday to Sunday)

Pay: Starting at £12.21/hour (NLW)

We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You’ll support our chefs in preparing fresh, seasonal food with care and consistency in a friendly, fast-paced kitchen that prides itself on sustainability and local sourcing.

Key responsibilities: Basic food prep and kitchen support, Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and organised, Assisting the chef during service, Following food hygiene and safety standards

You’ll need: A strong work ethic and willingness to learn, Good communication and teamwork skills, The ability to stay calm under pressure, A positive attitude and attention to detail.

Experience is a bonus, but full training can be provided for the right person.

Head Chef

Full Time - Permanent - September 2025 Start

Our menus highlight local, seasonal, and organic produce, and we proudly support our community kitchen, Cegin Hedyn, through a ‘Pay It Forward’ option on our menu.

Shift Pattern:

  • Wednesday - Sunday: 8am - 4pm

  • Friday & Saturday: 5pm - 10pm

Role Includes:

We are seeking a passionate and visionary Head Chef to lead the kitchen at The Warren. This is more than a leadership role – it’s an opportunity to be part of a community-driven food movement, educating others about sustainable food systems and making a meaningful impact through your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver seasonal menus that reflect our values: sustainability, creativity, and community.

  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.

  • Inspire and lead the kitchen team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and purpose.

  • Manage food costs, inventory, and supplier relationships, aligning with both our ethos and financial targets.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role.

  • A strong commitment to sustainable, ethical, and organic food practices.

  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and motivate a team in a dynamic environment.

  • Creativity and technical ability to work with seasonal produce to create innovative, nourishing dishes.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Alignment with the values and mission of The Warren.
