About
The Warren was founded by chef and community food champion Deri Reed, built on a simple belief that good food can create positive change for people, place and planet.
Launched through a community-backed crowdfunding campaign, The Warren has been listed in The Good Food Guide’s Top 100 Local Restaurants for six consecutive years, recognised for its commitment to local, organic produce, exceptional quality and thoughtful hospitality.
In 2024, Deri was named BBC Community Food Champion at the BBC Food & Farming Awards, recognising his leadership in ethical and sustainable food systems. Alongside The Warren, he founded Cegin Hedyn in 2022, a pay-what-you-can community canteen and allotment project ensuring everyone can access high-quality, seasonal food regardless of income.
Deri’s journey began at Café Paradiso in Cork and continued with The Ethical Chef at Cardiff’s Riverside Market before opening The Warren in Carmarthen. Today, The Warren reflects his ethos of leaving the planet, collaborators and customers better off.
